We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced QA Analyst (Manual and Automation) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in quality assurance, with a strong background in manual testing and automation. The candidate should possess deep expertise in testing applications, have knowledge of any of the NYC Department of Education systems such as Accessible Tool for Learning About Students (ATLAS) application or SESIS (Special Education Student Information System or CAP Legacy system ("Child Assistance Program" or "Child Assessment Program"), and be able to ensure the highest quality standards are met through comprehensive test case creation, execution, defect logging, and automation scripting. Key Responsibilities:
Manual Testing:
Create detailed and comprehensive test cases based on product specifications and requirements.
Run manual test scripts and test cases for functional, regression, and performance testing.
Execute test cases and document results in a clear and organized manner.
Log defects and work with development teams to track and resolve issues.
Automation Testing:
Create and maintain automation scripts to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
Run regression suites and other automated tests to ensure the integrity of the application after updates.
Design and implement effective automation strategies for testing across multiple environments and platforms.
Application-Specific Testing:
Must have direct experience with the Accessible Tool for Learning About Students (ATLAS) application and ensure it meets accessibility and functionality requirements.
Test Planning and Reporting:
Implement comprehensive test plans and communicate the results to stakeholders in a structured and meaningful format.
Develop meaningful error handling procedures for application code to ensure proper defect resolution and smooth application operation.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other QA teams to ensure the application is thoroughly tested and defect-free.
Assist in identifying opportunities to improve testing efficiency and develop best practices for the QA team.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of experience as a QA Analyst with a strong focus on both manual and automation testing.
Knowledge of any of the NYC Department of Education systems such as Accessible Tool for Learning About Students (ATLAS) application or SESIS (Special Education Student Information System or CAP Legacy system ("Child Assistance Program" or "Child Assessment Program")Expertise in creating detailed test cases from product requirements and specifications.
Proficiency in creating and executing test cases and test scripts.
Strong experience in developing and executing automation scripts (using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or others).
In-depth knowledge of error handling procedures and test reporting.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in creating and maintaining regression test suites.
Knowledge of performance testing and tools.
Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines.
Understanding of agile development processes and experience working in agile teams.
