Business Analysts

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on gathering requirements, creating detailed specifications, and ensuring successful communication between the client and development teams.
The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience and knowledge of any of the NYC Department of Education systems such as Accessible Tool for Learning About Students (ATLAS) application or SESIS (Special Education Student Information System or CAP Legacy system ("Child Assistance Program" or "Child Assessment Program"). The Business Analyst will guide the development of new components, facilitate client meetings, and ensure the successful delivery of solutions that meet business needs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and facilitate requirement-gathering sessions with clients to understand business needs and document specifications.
  • Collect detailed requirements, including business rules, data field needs, and acceptance criteria.
  • Create user flow diagrams to visually represent business processes and system functionality.
  • Guide the development of new components by translating business requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Ensure that the development team understands the business requirements and provide clarification as needed.
  • Conduct product demonstrations with clients to verify that the objectives have been achieved and align expectations.
  • Attend client meetings and act as the liaison between the client and the development team to address any questions or concerns.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet business needs and compliance standards.
  • Use tools such as Visio and Lucidchart to document workflows, business processes, and system designs.
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Knowledge of any of the NYC Department of Education systems such as Accessible Tool for Learning About Students (ATLAS) application or SESIS (Special Education Student Information System or CAP Legacy system ("Child Assistance Program" or "Child Assessment Program")..
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills with the ability to gather and document detailed requirements.
  • Proficient in creating user flow diagrams and other visual representations of business processes.
  • Experience with Visio and Lucidchart for creating diagrams and process documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies.
  • Experience working in education or student-focused applications.
  • Experience with additional business analysis tools or techniques.
