Mobile Billing & Technology Support Analyst

We are looking for a Mobile Billing & Technology Support Analyst with responsibility for managing mobile device billing, cost allocation, and providing support for mobile technology within an organization. They oversee mobile device management, monitor costs, and assist employees with technical support for mobile devices and services. This role is crucial in optimizing mobile technology use, controlling expenses, and ensuring that employees have the resources and support they need to use mobile devices effectively.
Core Responsibilities
  1. Mobile Device Billing and Cost Management
    • Manage and analyze mobile service provider invoices, ensuring accuracy in billing and identifying any discrepancies.
    • Allocate mobile costs to appropriate departments or cost centers, ensuring accurate chargeback.
    • Monitor usage patterns, identify potential cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate with service providers to optimize mobile expenses.
  2. Mobile Device Management (MDM)
    • Set up and manage mobile devices within a Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform, such as Microsoft Intune, AirWatch, or MobileIron.
    • Enroll new devices, configure security settings, and apply policies to ensure device compliance and data protection.
    • Remotely manage and troubleshoot mobile devices, enabling secure access to corporate resources.
  3. Technical Support and Troubleshooting
    • Provide technical support to employees for mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, and mobile applications.
    • Troubleshoot connectivity issues, application errors, and hardware malfunctions to ensure optimal device functionality.
    • Assist users with setup, configuration, and usage of corporate applications on their mobile devices.
  4. Contract and Vendor Management
    • Work with mobile service providers to manage contracts, ensuring services align with organizational requirements.
    • Track contract terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and renewal dates, coordinating with vendors for upgrades or replacements.
    • Review service provider performance, escalate issues when necessary, and negotiate terms to meet changing needs.
  5. Mobile Usage Policy Enforcement and Compliance
    • Develop, implement, and enforce mobile usage policies to ensure devices are used appropriately and securely.
    • Educate users on mobile security best practices, including device encryption, password policies, and secure data handling.
    • Monitor for policy violations and work with security teams to resolve potential security issues, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  6. Reporting and Analysis
    • Generate reports on mobile usage, costs, and policy compliance, providing insights to management for decision-making.
    • Analyze billing trends, device utilization, and user patterns to identify areas for improvement.
    • Provide monthly and quarterly expense reports, highlighting any unusual or excessive charges for review.
  7. Asset and Inventory Management
    • Track mobile assets within an inventory system, maintaining accurate records of devices issued to employees.
    • Coordinate the deployment, replacement, and return of devices, managing the entire device lifecycle.
    • Ensure all mobile devices are documented, tracked, and accounted for, minimizing loss and ensuring timely upgrades.
Key Skills
  1. Mobile Device and Billing Management
    • Strong understanding of mobile device management tools and platforms (e.g., Intune, AirWatch, MobileIron).
    • Experience managing mobile billing, including invoice analysis, cost allocation, and identifying billing discrepancies.
    • Knowledge of mobile service provider plans, contract terms, and best practices for reducing mobile expenses.
  2. Technical Troubleshooting and Support
    • Ability to troubleshoot common mobile device issues, such as connectivity, application errors, and device configuration.
    • Experience providing technical support for both iOS and Android devices, as well as supporting mobile applications.
    • Familiarity with mobile connectivity options (e.g., Wi-Fi, VPN, cellular) and resolving network-related issues.
  3. Vendor and Contract Management
    • Skills in managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, SLA monitoring, and issue escalation.
    • Knowledge of mobile service plans and options to ensure cost-effectiveness and adequate service levels.
    • Experience coordinating with vendors for contract renewals, device replacements, and service adjustments.
  4. Analytical and Reporting Skills
    • Proficiency in analyzing billing data, usage patterns, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
    • Ability to generate and interpret reports on mobile usage, costs, and compliance, providing insights to stakeholders.
    • Experience with Excel, SQL, or data analytics tools to support reporting and data analysis tasks.
  5. Policy Development and Compliance
    • Skills in developing and enforcing mobile device usage policies, ensuring security and regulatory compliance.
    • Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and how they relate to mobile devices.
    • Ability to educate users on mobile security best practices, ensuring devices are used securely.
  6. Asset Management
    • Experience tracking and managing mobile assets, including maintaining inventory records and coordinating replacements.
    • Knowledge of asset lifecycle management, ensuring timely upgrades and replacements for mobile devices.
    • Skills in organizing and documenting mobile assets to maintain accountability and reduce loss.
