As a Program Manager at Ariel you will oversee 12+ personnel performing agile software development and maintenance for systems supporting our client, the Environmental Protection Agency's Information Resources Management Division (IRMD). You will provide management guidance and high level problem solving while ensuring all program schedules, deliverables, and requirements are met. You will work closely with the business owner(s) to deliver solutions that meet the needs of the product owners and end users. You will provide coaching to the team on effective execution of Agile delivery methods.

You should have excellent writing and communication skills and be comfortable acting as the liaison between our technical development team and the Government (CO, COR, PM) in the conduct of all services performed under this task order. Furthermore, you should be ready to understand the high level business processes that your technical team supports.

  • Oversee the architecting, developing, operations, and maintenance of IRMD applications.
  • Manage projects in an Agile development environment e.g. Extreme Programming (XP), SCRUM, Kanban, Lean Software Development.
  • Understand business objectives and how the projects/program delivers them; driving adjustments in projects/program to more effectively achieve desired business results.
  • Provide coaching on Agile delivery methods and approached to ensure maximum efficiency and efficacy of processes.
  • Proactively identify, resolve, and escalate (as needed) projects/program risks/issues to the corporate or government leadership.
  • Proactively plan staffing and make dynamic adjustments to maximize resource efficiencies and achieve project results.
  • Coordinate program activities including, but not limited to, reporting, monitoring quality levels, subcontractor management, deliverable schedule and reports, budgets and financial reports.
  • Assess and report health of the program in an objective manner, maintaining transparency and accurate status; keep the corporate and government stakeholders informed.
  • Provide conflict resolution to ensure team cohesiveness
Required Skills And Capabilities
  • Bachelors Degree or higher.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSD) or equivalent Agile certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), ACP or equivalent Agile Management certification.
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to successfully pass a Federal Government Public Trust.
  • Five years of successful project management experience in an Agile-Scrum environment.
  • Proven track record in fostering, grooming, and growing self-governed, Agile teams.
Desired Skills And Capabilities
  • Experience managing projects using cloud technologies (AWS), DevOps and CI/CD automation.
